Intersection of There and No Where
Place and photograph are so intertwined in our communal memory that we often might have trouble separating one from another, or even experiencing place without creating a record of it. Aristotle discussed that even the void needs place before it can itself exist. Everything is somewhere, and in place, as he wrote. Only our conscious minds can draw connection within place from outside of its condition.
In order to explore the nature of place and its value as a photographic object, I am using a digital projector to superimpose one landscape over another. This is then digitally re-photographed and processed with minimal edits. The outcome intent is the experiential and surreal associations to the intersection of place, which invoke personal connection guided by new subjective relationships within the places that are recorded.
